Anxiety Counselling

When Worry Starts to Take Over

Anxiety can show up in many ways—racing thoughts, constant worry, trouble sleeping, or feeling tense and on edge. Sometimes it’s tied to specific situations, and other times it feels like it’s always there in the background. If you’re finding it hard to relax, focus, or feel present in your life, you’re not alone. At Riverstone Counselling, we offer a calm, supportive space where you can begin to understand your anxiety and learn ways to manage it with care and confidence.

I use a blend of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy to support people living with anxiety. DBT offers practical tools to help you regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and build stronger relationships. Narrative Therapy helps you explore the stories you tell yourself—about your fears, your strengths, and your identity. Together, these approaches help you shift anxious patterns, reconnect with your values, and feel more in control of your life. What You Might Notice Over Time

As counselling progresses, many people begin to feel more grounded and less overwhelmed by anxious thoughts. You might notice that your body feels more relaxed, your mind quieter, and your reactions more manageable. You’ll learn tools to calm your nervous system and reshape the way you respond to stress. Over time, clients often report feeling more confident, more present, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.
