Anxiety Counselling
When Worry Starts to Take Over
Anxiety can show up in many ways—racing thoughts, constant worry, trouble sleeping, or feeling tense and on edge. Sometimes it’s tied to specific situations, and other times it feels like it’s always there in the background. If you’re finding it hard to relax, focus, or feel present in your life, you’re not alone. At Riverstone Counselling, we offer a calm, supportive space where you can begin to understand your anxiety and learn ways to manage it with care and confidence.
I use a blend of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy to support people living with anxiety. DBT offers practical tools to help you regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and build stronger relationships. Narrative Therapy helps you explore the stories you tell yourself—about your fears, your strengths, and your identity. Together, these approaches help you shift anxious patterns, reconnect with your values, and feel more in control of your life. How we work together
What You Might Notice Over Time
As counselling progresses, many people begin to feel more grounded and less overwhelmed by anxious thoughts. You might notice that your body feels more relaxed, your mind quieter, and your reactions more manageable. You’ll learn tools to calm your nervous system and reshape the way you respond to stress. Over time, clients often report feeling more confident, more present, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.

Questions about Anxiety Counselling
-
You don’t need to hit a crisis point to benefit from counselling. If you’re feeling off, low, or just not quite yourself, that’s reason enough to reach out. Counselling isn’t just for severe anxiety—it’s also for anyone who wants support, clarity, or a space to talk things through. Your experience matters, and you deserve care, no matter how “big” or “small” it feels.
-
Sessions are a safe space to talk about what you're experiencing. We’ll talk about what’s been going on, explore how anxiety shows up for you, and introduce tools to help you manage it. You’ll learn strategies to calm your body and mind, and we’ll work together to understand the deeper patterns behind your anxiety.
-
No pressure. You share what feels comfortable, when it feels right. Counselling is a process, and we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and respectful for you.

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people notice changes within a few sessions, while others take more time. Our goal is to help you feel more empowered, supported, and equipped to manage anxiety in your everyday life.

That’s okay. Sometimes it takes the right fit or approach to make a difference. At Riverstone Counselling, I use a blend of DBT and Narrative Therapy to offer both practical tools and deeper insight. I’m here to meet you where you are and try something new together.
You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
Anxiety can make you feel like you’re constantly bracing for something—but you don’t have to carry that weight alone. Whether your anxiety is new or something you’ve lived with for years, I’m here to support you with compassion and care. At Riverstone Counselling, I believe healing starts with connection—and I’m ready to walk alongside you.
